Rainbow Preschool Closing
We are so sad to announce that Rainbow Preschool will be closing at the end of the next academic year, July 2024. We are proud of the OFSTED outstanding service that Rainbow provides, and of all the staff and families that have made this possible.
However, increasing demand on the resources required to operate at such a high level, and the decision of committee members to move on (after years of dedicated service) have led to a review, and the decision to bring Rainbow to a close next year. Our highly talented team will continue to provide the excellent level of service that they are known for until Rainbow concludes next year.
The committee decided it would be better to close whilst we are still able to offer an outstanding service, than risk struggling to meet the resources needed and to see Rainbow’s quality gradually decline.
Bookham Baptist Church and Children’s Centre will continue their exceptional work with families from Bookham and surrounding areas and will be looking for new opportunities to serve the community over the coming months and years.
Whilst this news may bring shock and sadness and could be difficult to understand, please pray with us for the staff, families, and children of Rainbow over the next year as they adjust to the news and make plans moving forward.

Operations Manager at Bookham Baptist Church
The pre-school is currently open for children aged 2–5 years and runs each weekday morning during term times.
The pre-school is situated in our light and spacious church hall where we are able to provide a wide variety of interesting play experiences for the children.
Rainbow was established 35 years ago
Awarded ‘Outstanding’ again by Ofsted in 2019.
We have an excellent adult/child ratio to enable us to care for each individual child. Our caring and dedicated staff ensure the pre-school is inclusive and we do our best to accommodate every child, whatever their needs may be.
We work closely together with each child’s parents and carers so we can do our best to provide for each child in our care.
