At Bookham Baptist Children’s Centre we offer kind, caring and professional support to you and your family. We know that being a parent can be challenging at times. It can also be loads of fun. We want to help make sure the good times outweigh the tough ones. Our groups, activities, courses and information services are designed to help make parenting as easy and enjoyable as possible.

We serve families and children in the Bookham, Effingham, Fetcham and surrounding area.

What’s on at Bookham Baptist Children’s Centre?

Courses for Parents

First Aid for Parents & Grandparents | Saturday 13th October 10am – 12noon

Are you a parent or grandparent, or looking after a child?  Would you know what to do in an emergency?  

This course will give you the skills to know what to do in those crucial moments, including CPR, choking, bumps and bruises and childhood illnesses. 

Cost: £20, includes certificate and resources.  Refreshments will be available to purchase from our onsite Meeting Place Cafe.

Talking Teens Course | Starting Thursday 18th October 9:30 – 11:30am

Parenting teenagers can be stressful and challenging. This course will tackle some of these challenges and help you understand your teenager better so you can have a calmer, happier family life.

The course cost is £30 for the 4 sessions.

Oasis

Oasis at Bookham Baptist Church Oasis at Bookham Baptist Church takes place every 2nd Friday of the month, between 2-4.30pm. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed to cover the costs of treatments and materials. There is a warm welcome with refreshments and home-made cakes and a chocolate fountain; a place to sit and chat with friends and a chance to get a hand, head or neck and shoulder massage or to get your nails done, whilst the Oasis team keep an eye on the children with crafts and games. Rainbow Playgroup / PreSchool

rainbow-playgroup Rainbow Playgroup is a Pre-School situated in the heart of Bookham village in the hall of Bookham Baptist Church. ​​ We are a non-profit making organisation hosted by the church for the purpose of being a great resource to families in our local community. ​​ We work closely with Bookham Baptist Children’s Centre and Noah’s Ark Toddler group so that we can provide continuity for families from birth to school entry. ​ We are open Mon – Fri from 9.15 – 12.15 and we welcome children from 2 years. THE MEETING PLACE is a social enterprise run by Christians from local churches and people from the community. One of our aims is to try and make a positive impact locally. On the 2nd February, we will be having a ‘Pop Up Sling Session’ where qualified sling consultants Katherine and Zoe will be visiting The Meeting Place Café at with a range of slings and carriers to try so just pop in!  Click here for more information. The charity is a fast-paced, growing organisation whose vision is to answer the national problem of debt in the UK by having at least one CAP Debt Centre operating in every major town and city. Bookham Baptist Church and a number of other churches have partnered with CAP to offer debt counselling in Mole Valley. The service we offer is completely free. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
